Our centre opened in May 2007 as a Kip McGrath Franchise. This Centre ceded from the parent company in August 2007. We reopened in August 2007 as Out-To-Learn Airdrie and Coatbridge, part of the uktuition network.

Since that date, we have adopted new materials and processes and have continued to successfully tutor children to the same high standard.

Our new materials and software continue to make a real difference to Reading, Spelling, English and Mathematics. for attending students. They continue to enjoy learning; and have experienced the benefits of our tutoring.

It has been particularly successful in increasing skills and developing greater confidence.

We specialize in providing tuition in literacy and numeracy for children aged 5 upwards - for those who need extra help at school, as well as for those who are already excelling. James Wynn the centre owner, has 37 years teaching experience in Glasgow and Stirling.

The Staff working at the Centre are all Disclosure Scotland checked and all are current practising and experienced teachers. There are currently two Primary Tutors, Two Mathematics Tutors and two English Tutors working at the Centre, with a wealth of experience to offer parents and children at Primary Level.

At the end of each lesson,, children are given a homework task and parents are able ot tlak with tutors to discuss progress and future options

Depending on the age and stage of the students, all are given an assessment of needs before commencing a programme of study.

We are flexible in the provision of tuition times but generally we have Mathematics Tutoring available on two evenings per week - Mondays and Tuesdays. This usually takes place at six thirty and is with one of our two Maths tutors, Michael Kelly or Michael Fagan.

Their main provision is for the following;

Standard Grade

Intermediate1 & 2

Higher

Advanced Higher

Junior School Mathematics is also provided for but on a more flexible basis on four evenings per week

English Tuition is provided for on a similar format. James Wynn and Lynne Cunningham provide support for pupils at all levels;

Again junior school support is provided on a more flexible basis for four evenings per week.

Timings are as follows below;

Monday 5.00 pm - 6.20 pm

6.30 pm - 7.50 pm

Tuesday 5.00 pm - 6.20 pm

6.30 pm - 7.50 pm

Wednesday 5.00 pm - 6.20 pm

6.30 pm - 7.50 pm

Thursday 5.00 pm - 6.20 pm

6.30 pm - 7.50 pm

Saturday 9.00 am - 10.20 am

10.30 am - 11.50 pm

James Wynn, Centre Director

Michael Kelly, Maths Tutor

Michael has taught in a number of Secondary schools locally but more recently has worked in West Lothian where he runs a faculty and has achieved notable successes.

His work at the Centre in Coatbridge has

allowed him to continue that same successful programme and positive attitude with the students attending for Maths tuition at Standard Grade, Intermediate 1 & 2 and Higher Level.

James taught in 3 Secondary schools in a thirty seven year teaching career and has transferred his skill and knowledge to tutoring and managing the needs of students attending the Centre in Coatbbridge.

It has evolved into a very modern and well - resourced Centre with students enrolled from both Primary and Secondary Schools locally and beyond the boundaries of Coatbridge and Airdrie.

Success rates have been high with fantastic outcomes for students studying Maths and English at Standard Grade, Intermediate 1 & 2, Higher and Advanced Higher levels.

Michael has taught in a number of Secondary schools locally but more recently has worked in West Lothian.

He is a talented and enthusaiastic tutor with an amazing track record at all levels of the Mathematics curriculum but in particular, has achieved remarkable results at Advanced Higher.

He has an excellent realtionship with his students and proves what can be achieved by the application of effort and the raising of confidence and expectations

Jenna has taught in a number of Primary Schools locally and has had a range of expreiences of teaching at different age levels .

She is a very capable and experienced teacher who has developed excellent relationships with the studnets she works with at the Centre

Airdrie/Coatbridge Professional Tuition Centre

We specialize in providing English and Mathematics tutoring for children aged 5 upwards. We also have a service offering Physics and Chemistry Tuition. All of our Staff are Disclosure Scotland checked and all are qualified and practising teachers.

We opeed in May 2007 initially as a Kip McGrath franchise. Our centre has helped children with their Reading, Spelling, English and Mathematics. over that period and we continue to provide excellent tuition in our new new guise as an independent centre.

In August 2011 we ceded from the Kip McGrath Franchise network and formed our own unique brand - uktuition.org.uk - the Assocation of Professional Tuition Centres. We continue to provide quality tuition at modest costs with our own unique brand of software and curriculum materials, tailored for the for the Scottish curriculum

Our Centres

In August 2011, 24 Former Kip McGrath Franchisees from across the UK, formed our Association of Independent Professional Tuition Centres havinmg decided to cede from the parent company. As a founder member of the Association of Professional Tuition Centres, James Wynn regards it as his first priority to assure the quality of the service provided.

Our Centre opened as a Kip McGrath Education Centre in May 2007 and ceded from the company in August 2007 and reopened as OUT- TO - LEARN. We continue to provide excellent service for our students and now make use of our own brand of software and current Scottish Curriculum Materials.

Our Centre has an established pool of well - qualified tutors, who are all registered teachers. The satisfaction of our students and our parents is stiil our key aim and our reputation for the provisiion of quality tuition for our local communities continues to grow.

We have shared knowledge and expertise within Association - uktuition.org.uk - to identify the key factors which have contributed to each centre's success.

Together, we have invested heavily in new software, online and paper-based resources. We each intend to make our service to parents and students even better.

We specialise in providing tuition in English and Maths for Primary and Secondary children - those who need extra help at school, as well as those who are already excelling.

Many Centres offer entrance exam preparation and some offer tutoring in Science and/or IT. For more detailed information, each centre has its own page on our website.

Our aim is to have our students enjoy learning. We want them to discover a new confidence, which they can take back into the classroom and into other areas of their lives.
